Membership and Nomination Rules

Membership Rules

  1. Membership is open to all Kenyan citizens aged 18 and above, regardless of ethnicity, religion, or background.
  2. Members must subscribe to The United Patriotic Movement (UPM) ideology, core values, and constitution.
  3. To join, individuals must register online or through designated party offices and pay a prescribed membership fee.
  4. Members must maintain good conduct and adhere to party rules and regulations.
  5. Membership may be terminated for gross misconduct, non-compliance with party policies, or involvement in corruption or criminal activities.

Nomination Rules

  1. Nomination of candidates for elections will follow a transparent, free, and fair process.
  2. Only registered and active party members in good standing are eligible for nomination.
  3. Aspiring candidates must meet constitutional qualifications for the desired position and uphold the party’s principles.
  4. Nomination fees will be determined based on the position sought.
  5. An independent Party Elections Board will oversee the nomination process to ensure fairness and impartiality.
  6. Dispute resolution mechanisms will be in place to address grievances during the nomination process.

These rules reflect UPM’s commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and democratic practices.
